History
In January 2005 at the annual meeting of the Shop America Alliance in Honolulu Hawaii, Steve Sue president of StoryManager, Inc. was asked to speak on the topic of customer-centric retail branding. Rather than showcase existing e-tail examples, Steve created an emerchandising demonstration that was essentially a dynamic personal branding system adapted from a corporate branding system (StoryManager® Software). With the help of demonstration partner, Hilo Hattie, Hawaii's leading aloha shirt manufacturer, shoppers were introduced to a 2-minute, 24 question personality test (dubbed the VibeTM Personality Test) to match pre-typed aloha wear, jewelry and house wares. Products were then recommended to shoppers through personalized coupons that offered discounts on selected products to encourage visitation to a nearby Hilo Hattie store. The response was so enthusiastic that Vibe Retail Systems, LLC was spawned to bring the concept to market. Over the next 18 months, VibeTM Technology was perfected, submitted for patent protection and embodied in the form of licensable merchandising modules. For more, see Vibe Demos.
